Profiloplasty is about assessing if the different structures of the face are properly aligned in correct proportions, this includes the forehead (upper part), the nose (central part) and the lips and chin (lower part). Photographic and radiological evidence is used to study the profile of the face to define the best possible approach for surgery. For example, removing a lump using rhinoplasty doesn’t have a great effect if a receding chin isn’t also corrected; if the chin is protruding too much, then a nose appears to be too small.
